William Gerald Travers

William “Bill” Gerald Travers, age 85, of Asheboro passed away on July 1, 2025 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Travers was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 15, 1940 to William and Sally Coury Travers, who preceded him in death. Bill served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Bill was employed as Safety Director for Cascade Die Casting in High Point for 13 years, OSHA Director for the State of New York for 6 years, and Hazardous Waste Industries. He also taught at the Royalton-Hartland Central Junior School in Niagara County, NY for 13 years. Bill loved model railroading and had been very into “Where’s George” since 2003.

He is survived by his children, William Phillip Travers (Cynthia) of Waddell, AZ, Joseph Anthony Travers (Cindy) of Buffalo, NY, Bruce Edward Travers (Robyn) of Pittsburgh, PA, and Rose Marie Williams of Evergreen, CO; and grandchildren, Ryan Travers, James Carmen, Jordan Williams, and Skarlet Williams.
