Wayne Laxton Steele, Sr.

Wayne Laxton Steele, Sr., age 60, of 5994 US Hwy 220, Asheboro died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at VA Medical Center, Durham. Mr. Steele was born January 11, 1951 in Macon, GA, the son of Robert and Mary Wilmot Steele. Mr. Steele was a truck driver and a veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Mary Steele and a grandson: Henry Steele. He is survived by his daughter: Shelly Steele of Asheboro; son:Wayne Steele, Jr. of Level Cross; 3 grandchildren: Madison Steele, Wayne Steele, III and Bionca Steele; two sisters: Linda Mattocks and her husband, Doug of Benell, FLA and Becki Steele-Avery and her husband, Jerry of Daytona Beach, FLA; two brothers: Bobby Steele and his wife, Mary of KY and Greg Steele of CA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at 492 Friendly Acres Road, Asheboro. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Tony Sedberry officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens, Asheboro with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
