Wanda Lee Fesmire Phillips

Wanda Lee Fesmire Phillips, age 92, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Phillips was born in Randolph County on July 31, 1928 to Carl and Sarah York Fesmire. She was employed with the Randolph County Register of Deeds office for 20 years and the Randolph County Department of Social Services for 10 years. Wanda attended Oakwood Park Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Phillips, and her siblings, Sarah Burkhead, Doris Evington, Charles Fesmire, and James Fesmire. Wanda always liked to keep up with the latest fashion trends. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and flower arranging. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy P. Hendrix of Myrtle Beach, SC; son, Greg Phillips of Asheboro; her granddaughter whom she raised, Angel Poindexter and husband Doug of Asheboro; grandsons, Reid Phillips, Lee Gibson, and Quinn Hudspith; 5 great grandchildren; and sister, Buena Edwards of Liberty. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Oaklawn Cemetery, 737 Albemarle Road in Asheboro with Mike Thompson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Randolph SPCA, 300 W. Bailey St., Asheboro, NC 27203 or Oakwood Park Baptist Church, 194 Cresent Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
