Obituary

In Loving Memory of Valeria Martin

1964–2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Valeria Martin, who departed this life in 2026 at the age of 62. While her family grieves the loss of an extraordinary wife, mother, sister, and friend, they also celebrate a life filled with love, devotion, and quiet strength.

Valeria was a woman who found beauty in the simple things. She had a special gift for nurturing life, whether tending to her beloved plants, preparing delicious meals that brought family together around the table, or creating a warm and welcoming home. Her kitchen was often the heart of the house, where love was expressed through home-cooked meals and cherished conversations.

Before dedicating herself fully to her family, Valeria proudly owned and operated a successful cosmetology business. She took great pride in helping others feel beautiful and confident through her work. Later, she embraced the role she treasured most—that of a stay-at-home mother. She considered raising her children and caring for her family to be life's greatest privilege and purpose.

Above all else, Valeria was a devoted wife and loving mother. She shared 30 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, James Martin, whose life was forever enriched by her unwavering love, kindness, and companionship. Together they built a home filled with laughter, resilience, and unconditional love.

She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her husband of 30 years, James Martin; her son, Blake Shaw, age 33; her daughter, Victoria Scarborough, age 34; her brother, Timmy Kitner; and her sister, Rachelle Cruthis. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know her.

Valeria's legacy is one of compassion, selflessness, and enduring love. She taught those around her the importance of family, generosity, and finding joy in life's everyday moments. Though she is no longer with us, the seeds of love she planted in so many hearts will continue to grow for generations to come.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Martin will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Pugh Funeral Home "Mac Pugh Chapel", 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00-2:50.  In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in her memory to Hospice of the Piedmont, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC, 27205

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held close in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

"Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they shared, the memories they created, and the love that remains forever in our hearts."

May her memory be a blessing to all who loved her forever.
