Thomas Richard Lyndon, age 91, of Asheboro died Monday, January 25, 2021 at Alpine Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.
Mr. Lyndon was born May 18, 1929 the son of Thomas Henry and Dora Alta Saunders Lyndon.
Richard was a native of Randolph County and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Klopman Mills for many years as a truck driver. He was an active member of Back Creek Friends Meeting and part of the Quaker Men's group there. Richard will be remembered for his kindness and helping others. He was a doting husband, father and grandfather and loved his immediate and extended families. He had a good sense of humor, was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to fish. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years: Betty Hilliard Lyndon, two daughters: Amy (Eric) Allen of Troy, NC, Ann (Randy) York of Asheboro, NC, granddaughter: Emily (Spencer) Taylor; grandson: Lyndon (Jobeth) Shaw; granddaughter: Sarah York; and great grandson, Parker Taylor
The Memorial Service will be Friday, January 29, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Back Creek Friends Meeting, 139 Back Creek Church Rd., Asheboro with Mike Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Meeting Fellowship Hall.
