Thelma Cole Sellers, age 85, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Sellers was born in Seagrove on August 28, 1935 to Carlie and Mary Estelle Auman Cole and was a graduate of Seagrove High School. She was formerly employed with Bossong Hosiery, Sew Special, G.E., and retired from Black & Decker. Following her retirement, Thelma worked for her family trucking company, Sellers Trucking, for 10 years. Thelma was a member of Center Cross Baptist Church, where she was a former Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher for the 6-8 year old class. She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her brothers, Ervin Cole and wife Ida, Huston Cole and wife Bertie, Ferman Cole, and her sister, Pearle Moffitt Murray. She loved her children and was very devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thelma loved to talk to her friends and loved her community, neighbors, extended family, and caregivers. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas Lloyd "Billy" Sellers; daughters, Karen Lambert (Eddie) of Asheboro and Teresa Cox (Jeff) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Colby Lambert (Michelle) of Greensboro, Trevor Lambert (Meghann) of Greensboro, Alison Held (Cory) of Apex, and Brandon Cox (Camila) of Boone; great grandchildren, Evelyn and Colton Held and Christian Lambert; sister Mary Smith (Arnold) of Asheboro; and sister-in-law, Ruby Cole Bennett. Thelma's body will lie in repose on Saturday, June 26,2021 from 1:00-5:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A private family service will be held. Memorials may be made to Center Cross Baptist Church, 1789 Center Cross Church Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205.
