- Susan Dale Spivey, age 79, of Asheboro, North Carolina, passed away
- peacefully at her home on October 7, 2026. Susan was born on April 3,
- 1947, in Asheboro to the late Willie Alton Spivey and Mattie Britt
- Spivey Moorefield.
- In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her
- sisters, Peggy Gurkin Vick and Hilda Spivey Westbrook, and her
- brother, Kenneth Spivey. Susan and her brothers and sisters were all
- raised in the home of their Uncle Harry G Cranford and Aunt Lillie
- Britt Cranford in Asheboro.
- She is survived by her sister, Linda Spivey Phillips of Nashville,
- North Carolina, and her brother, Ron (Ronnie) Spivey of Alvarado,
- Texas.
- A vibrant, outgoing soul who truly never met a stranger, Susan had a
- remarkable gift for making anyone she crossed paths with feel like an
- old friend within minutes of conversation. She was a natural and
- animated storyteller who absolutely loved talking to people. While
- those closest to her knew she might occasionally embellish a detail or
- two to make a good story even better, her warm spirit and infectious
- laugh made every tale a joy to hear. Plus she loved working in her
- yard year round.
- Susan was affectionately known to her many nieces, nephews, great
- nieces, and great nephews as "Sue-Sue". She could always find joy in
- the simple moments of life. Whether she was spending hours on the
- phone catching up with her loved ones, sharing a laugh over a cup of
- coffee, or simply bringing color into the lives of those she
- cherished, she lived her life on her terms with an open heart and a
- ready smile.
- A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from
- 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow Monday at
- Randolph Memorial Park at 11am.
