Stephen Douglas Light

Stephen Douglas Light, age 72, of Asheboro died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Randolph Hospice House. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 1:30-2:45 pm at the Central United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro, NC. A memorial service will follow on Sunday at 3:00 at Central United Methodist Church with Dr. Terry Matthews officiating. Mr. Light was a native of Kingsport, TN and was retired from Burlington Mills after 40+ years of services as a Computer Analyst. Following his retirement, Doug spent his time as a volunteer with Randolph Hospital. Doug had over 5000 volunteer hours, something he was very proud of. Some of his hobbies included deep sea fishing, golfing, and riding his bike. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Light; daughters, Tracey Smith and her husband Doug of Asheboro, Tina Sykes of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jackson Smith, Chloe Smith, Gavin Sykes all of Asheboro; brothers, Ronald Light and his wife Shirlene of Kingsport, TN, Phil Light and his wife Pat of Kernersville.
