Sharon Elizabeth Galloway Shaw

Sharon Elizabeth Galloway Shaw, age 60 of Troy, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2026 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Sharon, affectionately known to many as Nana, was born on June 20, 1966 in Randolph County, NC to Cyrus and Madelle Williams Galloway. Sharon graduated from Southwest Randolph High School and was a member at Harvest Field Baptist Church. She loved the color purple, listening to all kinds of music, and going to Carolina Beach with her family. Sharon worked for McDowell Lumber running a debarker machine for multiple years and later worked at Crossroads Retirement Community. Her favorite job of all was being a stay-at-home mom taking care of her children and grandchildren. Sharon was known to be fashionably late going places, but better known as an excellent cook whose family and friends loved her blackberry wine cake, Hersey’s chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, and her biscuits and gravy. Sharon had a great sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed making people laugh. In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her infant son, Eric Shaw; and her infant brother, John Galloway.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Ashley Shaw (Tommy) of Troy; son, Jason Shaw (Amanda) of Denton; and daughter, Mikayla Shaw of Troy; grandchildren, James and Shelbi Mauldin, and Jaxon and Sammy Shaw; former husband, Ernest Scott Shaw; sisters, Mary Mauldin, and Tammy Lytton (Jody); and her nieces and nephews, Jacob, Azlinn, Maliyah, Hollie, and Levi.

The family will receive friends at the Shaw home, 7137 Abner Rd., Troy, NC 27371 on Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. A graveside service and burial will be held at the home on Friday, October 23, 2026 at 2:00PM.
