Robert Lindsey Morton

Robert Lindsey Morton, age 64, of 597 Substation Road, Troy died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at his home. Mr. Morton was born August 15, 1946 in Randolph County, NC, the son of William Robert and Irene (Greene) Morton. He was of the Baptist faith and former employee of Capel Rug Mill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Dale Morton. He is survived by one daughter: Renee Leonard of Lexington; one son: Chris Morton of Star; three sisters: Viva Halcom of Tega Cay, SC, Regina Babson of Mayflower, AR, Cathy Callahan of Asheboro; one brother: Dwaine Morton of Greensboro; 5 grandchildren; one half-sister, Renitta Bramblett of Asheboro; two step-sisters: Vivian Davis of Biscoe and Beth Davis of Sophia. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Cathy Callahan of 155 Bennett Farm Road, Asheboro. A memorial service will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Church of Troy, Mt. Olivet Church Road, Troy with Rev. Howard McNeill officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
