Robert Gordon "Bob" Cox, age 90, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Randolph Hospital.
Mr. Cox was born in Asheboro on March 6, 1932 to Casper and Blanche Steed Cox. Bob was a graduate of Asheboro High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed with Klopman Mills and Ramtex and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Parrish Cox, daughter, Beverly Cox Chrisco, and sister, Mary Rachel Whitehurst. Bob loved to travel and camp and was the Co-Founder of the RV'ers Club in Asheboro. Bob never met a stranger and was an amateur photographer.
He is survived by his daughters, Belinda Cox (Jeff) of Asheboro and Robin Garner (Mike) of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Kimberly Lewis (Josh) of Asheboro, Kelly Roberts (fiancée Van Hicks) of Thomasville, and Derrick Cox of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Mary Katherine Roberts, Madeline Lewis, Dalton Hicks, and Maddux Lewis.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A private graveside service will be held with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
