Richard Thomas Cox

Richard Thomas Cox, age 77 of Liberty, NC, died September 12, 2026, at his home.

Richard was born in Guilford County on November 17, 1948, to Robert Harrison and Marie Haney Cox.

He loved to be outside, his animals, particularly horses, and he could fix just about anything. He enjoyed attending auctions and loved his work. He spent many years as an Engineer with Flowers Bakery Company.

He is survived by his wife: Elda Walden Cox; daughter: Rebecca Griffin of Randleman; son: Robert Cox (Christy Richardson) of Jamestown; Ryan Cox (Barbara) of Randleman; sister: Ramona Newby (Sonny) of High Point; brothers: Ronald Cox and Roger Cox (Debbie) both of Greensboro; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents: Richard is preceded in death by his son: Richard Cox, Jr. and one brother: Robert “Bobby” Cox.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel 600 S. Main Street, Randleman, NC.
