Reid Hill Saunders

Reid Hill Saunders, age 73, of Troy, NC passed away on August 23, 2023 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Saunders was born in Asheboro, NC on July 28, 1950 to James and Jewell Hill Saunders, who preceded him in death. He was formerly employed in Commercial Sales with Pella Windows & Doors and was a member of Ophir Methodist Church. Reid leaves behind his faithful canine companion, Sadie. Reid was a very genuine and generous man. He loved to fish and hunt.  Reid was a straight shooter-if you know, you know.

He is survived by his sons, Reid (Kim) of Raleigh, NC and Robbie (Rachael) of Auburn, AL; grandchildren, Nathan, Caden, Allison, Paisley, and Charlie; brothers, Ben (Jane) of Jamestown, NC and Mark of Troy, NC.  He leaves behind his fiancée, Rita Parker Simpson who never left his side in his final days, providing unconditional love and care.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Knapp officiating. Interment will follow at the Ophir Methodist Church Cemetery.
