Reggie Oliver Hooker, Jr.

Reggie Oliver Hooker, Jr., age 94, of Asheboro passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Tara Bella Assisted Living in Asheboro.

Mr. Hooker was born in Randolph County on August 7, 1927 to Oliver and Vergie Hinshaw Hooker.  Reggie served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force and was retired from Baxter Routh Construction. In addition to his parents, Reggie was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Shaw Hooker, brothers, Bobby Hooker, John David Hooker, and Bill Clark, and sister, Betty Jo Morgan.  

He is survived by his sons, Gene Hooker of Sophia, Wayne Hooker (Brenda) of Asheboro, Ed Hooker (Ava) of Asheboro, and Mike Hooker of Level Cross; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 14 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 12:30-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.  Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.  Interment will  be held at Randolph Memorial Park.
