Peter Anthony “Chummy” Recht, age 90, of Randleman passed away on July 7, 2026 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Recht was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and later resided in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. He has lived in Randleman, NC for the past 3 1/2 years. Peter served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Peter retired, with over 35 years of service, as a Mechanical Engineer in the Automotive industry. Following his retirement, Peter moved to Cody, Wyoming. Peter enjoyed restoring and riding motorcycles. He loved woodworking, hiking, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rosemary Recht; son, Michael A. Recht (Penny) of Liberty; daughters, Theresa Recht (Michael) of Harris, Minnesota, Cathy Paddock (Kurt) of Danbury, Wisconsin, and Elizabeth Recht Scaccia of Jamestown; 5 grandchildren; and his beloved canine companion, Sofie.
