Nellie Jean Groce Crews

Nellie Jean Groce Crews, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Clapps Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden.

Mrs. Crews was born in Randolph County on August 26, 1931 to Robert and Bertha Allred Groce.  Nell retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill after 30 years of service.  She was a longtime member of Worthville United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.  In addition to her parents, Nell was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Crews, and her sister, Louise Groce Myers.  Nell loved to travel, especially to Florida and the beach.  She loved her nephew and his wife, her niece and her husband, and their children.

She is survived by her nephew, Jim Myers and wife Pam of Asheboro; niece, Renee Myers Williams and husband Jim of North Augusta, SC; and great nephews, Chris Myers and wife Amy and David Shields and wife Dana.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park with Rev. Abraham Kim officiating.
