Nannie Lou Hedrick

Nannie Lou Austin Hedrick, born October 31, 1926 passed away on September 24, 2016 at Rex Rehabilitation and Nursing in Raleigh, NC after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Hedrick and daughter, Barbara. She leaves to celebrate her life, three children, Bill Hedrick (Mickie) of Raleigh, Dee McLamb (Bill) of Raleigh, and Nancy Hedrick (Mike Schilke) of Hillsborough. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Nannie Lou lived most of her life in Asheboro. After graduating from Rex Hospital School of Nursing in 1947, she worked as an RN at Randolph Hospital for many years. Her final years of nursing were spent at Hospice of Randolph County where she experienced some of her most gratifying work in the profession. She was a lifelong NC State fan, an avid reader and a good friend to many. She loved her Lord and her church family and was active in her church community until going into the nursing home in Raleigh. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, 420 W. Walker Ave., Asheboro, NC, followed by a visitation for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
