Nancy Huggins Hammonds

Nancy Huggins Hammonds, age 81, of Asheboro passed away on June 20, 2024 at Alpine Health & Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Hammonds was born in Asheboro on September 7, 1942 to Charles and Pearl Bray Huggins. She was a member of Rushwood Church and loved to travel and find new churches. Nancy was formerly employed with Dr. Noel Brown’s dermatology office as the office manager. Later in life, she returned to college to learn computer technology, and used this knowledge at church and in her work. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosalind Jones, and brother, Wade Huggins. Nancy was deeply invested in her family as a homemaker and mother.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert “Bob” Hammonds; sons, Rob Hammonds, Jr. (Amber) of Redding, CA and Charles Ryan Hammonds (Anne) of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Derek (Gina), Nicole (Brett), Ellie, Will, Macy, and Justus; and great grandchildren, Colton, Tate, Holt, Finn, and Mallie.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Rushwood Church, 1810 Old Farmer Road in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the church with Dr. Brent Tysinger officiating. Interment will be held at New Hope Memorial Gardens.
