Melanie Dene'e Frye, a vibrant soul whose laughter filled the air and whose passion ignited the hearts around her, departed this world unexpectedly on February 5, 2026, in Winston-Salem. Born on September 19, 1977, in Galveston, Texas, Melanie was a true embodiment of life lived fully and authentically.

Her formative years unfolded at Randleman High School, where her athletic spirit shone brightly on the volleyball and softball fields. It was here that the foundations of her vibrant personality were built—an unwavering determination set against a backdrop of camaraderie and joy.

To know Melanie was to know a fashionista with a flair for creativity and an unparalleled love for cooking. She found joy in coordinating clothing with effortless style and orchestrating beloved family get-togethers that gathered her loved ones and created lasting memories. Her ability to navigate life, both in wardrobe and in spirit, made her directionally gifted beyond the physical realm, as she instinctively knew how to lead people toward warmth and connection.

Melanie's heart grew larger with every adventure she embarked upon, particularly during her cherished cruising escapades. This essence of adventurous spirit defined not only her travels but also her proudest accomplishments; she was nothing short of a masterclass in navigating the world through soft power, gently wielding influence and kindness in every interaction.

She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever—her mother, Theressa Bruce Hyatt; her siblings, Jerrad Frye (Kristie Robinson), Angela Frye, Joshua Hyatt (Emma Collins); her partner, Rebekah Nichols; and her precious daughter, Khristen Camp, along with her pets Thor, who misses her, and Sadie, who went on ahead from this life. Her legacy will also continue through her nieces and nephews—Darius, Kobe, Jenipher, Ethan, Morgan, Hyame, Evan, Kevin, Monkey a.k.a Devin, Caelyn, Carson, SadieGrace, and Kinsiely—each of whom hold treasured memories etched in their hearts. She also leaves behind her Aunt Missie of Spendora Tx, Aunt Laura, Uncle Donnie, and numerous cousins who will miss her brightness. In the comfort of shared stories and laughter, they will carry forward her light.

Melanie is reunited in spirit with her late father, Kenneth Wayne Frye; her grandparents, Mary and Wilburn Bruce, Mildred and Merle Frye; her uncle, Sheldon Bruce; and her aunt, Virginia Bowland. Those who have left this earthly plane now embrace her, as memories of laughter echo through time, reminding us of a life well-lived and a soul forever cherished.

As we bid farewell to Melanie Denee Frye, let us celebrate the vibrant tapestry she wove with the threads of her heart—each stitch a testament to her indomitable spirit that embraced life with open arms. In our sorrow, we find gratitude for the moments shared, the lessons learned, and the love that can never be extinguished. The world feels a little dimmer without her, but her legacy continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
