Max Alva Overton

Max Alva Overton, age 91, of Troy passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Overton was born in Troy on November 13, 1931 to Thomas and Hulda Whitley Overton. Max served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Central Carolina Vending in Biscoe after 35 years of service and was an active member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Allen Overton, brother, Lane Overton, and sister, Frances Robinson. Max thoroughly enjoyed surf fishing at Hatteras and greatly looked forward to his yearly trips. Max was a lover of aviation. In his younger days, he had fun flying private planes. Max was loved by everyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

He is survived by his daughters, Lydia Bulla (Don) of High Point and Julie McCaskill (Tim) of Biscoe; grandchildren: Jessi, Gracie, Sara, Max, and Mary Beth; and sister, Elizabeth McCallum of Greensboro.

A private service will be held.
