Mary Irene Younger

RANDLEMAN - Mary Irene Hodge Younger, age 82, formerly of Randleman, died Monday, September 23, 2019 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

Mrs. Younger was born February 15, 1937 the daughter of Walter Daniel and Ruby Rakes Hodge.

Mary was a native of Stuart, VA and spent her early years there. She had worked in food service for many years including time at Burlington Mills and at Biscuitville. She was a long-time member of God Outreach Ministries of Asheboro. She is preceded in death by her husband: Arnold Baxter Younger and her children: Arnold Lee Younger and Pamela Younger Parson.

She is survived by one son: Thomas "Tommy" Younger of Randleman, NC, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be Sunday at 11:00 AM at God Outreach Ministries, 1828 Rayburn Street, Asheboro with Pastor Tim Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
