Mary Ann Hancock Windham, age 72, of Randleman, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at Hospice of Randolph.
Mary Ann was born on October 30, 1953, in Randolph County to Edward Walter Hancock and Mary Lillian Feree. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around family, hard work, and simple joys.
She adored her grandchildren and loved spoiling them every chance she had. Her persimmon pudding was unmatched, and she enjoyed cooking for those she loved. Mary Ann treasured her faithful dog Abby, loved going fishing, spending time at the beach, and playing checkers. She always made sure her nails were done and remained active and independent until illness prevented it. Whether taking her grandchildren to the Golden Waffles or simply spending quality time with them, Mary Ann created memories her family will forever cherish.
For 25 years, she worked as superintendent over the dye house at ACME McCrary, where she gained the respect of many for her dedication and strong work ethic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Windham; her parents; and her brothers, Grover Hancock and J.E. Hancock.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Angie Threadgill (Chad); grandchildren, Logan and Jayden Turner; and her brother, Larry Hancock (Judy).
The family extends a special thank-you to Hospice of Randolph for their compassionate care during Mary Ann’s final days.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, at 3:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at the Eddie Pugh Memorial Chapel, with Wesley Patterson officiating.
