Martha Morgan Davis

Mrs. Martha Morgan Davis, age 95, formerly of NC Hwy 109N, Troy, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Mountain Vista Health Park, Denton. Mrs. Davis was born October 7, 1921 in Montgomery County, the daughter of Blaine Morgan, Sr. and Mabel Hall Morgan. She was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was a loving, understanding mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and reading her Bible. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Davis Batten, a brother, Blaine Morgan, Jr. and a sister, Rebecca Russell. She is survived by one daughter: Shirley D. Woody of Troy; two sons: Ted Davis of Troy and Johnny Davis (Debbie) of Robbins; one sister: Peggy Wilkins of Denton; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4203 NC Hwy 109N, Troy with Rev. Darrin Everhart and Rev. Derald Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Shirley Woody. Pugh-Troy Funeral Home is serving the Davis Family.
