Mark Douglas Hunt

Mark Douglas Hunt, 67, of Sophia passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice in Winston-Salem. He was born September 30, 1958 in Asheboro, NC to Walter Hunt, Jr. and Alene Small Hunt.

Mark was born in Asheboro and was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. He was married to the love of his life, Cathy, for 49 years. After 40 years of driving 18-wheelers, Mark liked to spend time at home working in his yard and watching NASCAR, but he truly loved spending time watching his only grandson play sports.

Mark is survived by his wife, Cathy Hunt of the home; son, Justin Hunt (Candice); daughter, Amanda Hunt; grandson, Lee Hunt; siblings, Donald, Roger, Linda; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alene Hunt.

The family will receive friends and celebrate Mark on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St., Randleman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Mark's name be made to the American Cancer Society.
