Marino Gayle Sweeney

Marino Gayle Mitchell Sweeney was born August 27th, 1978 to Susan Mitchell and Everett Whitt. She graduated from Big Creek high school in 1997 and that same year married her husband Marion Sweeney on May 19th 1997. Marino spent a good part of her adult life being a homemaker to her family. After all of her children had started school, she decided to go back to school herself. In December of 2017 she completed the LPN program at Patrick Henry Community College and passed her NCLEX on her first try in February of 2018. Marino was proud to be a nurse, working in long term care, home health, and in clinics. Marino was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Marino passed away in her sleep on September 26th, 2026. She is proceeded in death by her parents Susan Mitchell and Everett Whitt. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Marion Sweeney, her sister Barbara Osborne (husband Lonnie), her children Marissa Sweeney, Malyssa Sweeney Phillips (husband Wesley), Malena Sweeney, and Montanna Sweeney. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Aiden, Ace, Apollo and Adaline Butler, Aurora and Arabella Tedder. She is also survived by her nieces Mahala Taylor and Isabella Scrotsky, and her nephew Lonnie Osborne. Marino will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her
