Marie Moore Westfield

On Friday, November 18, 2022, Marie “Ree” Clara Moore Westfield, loving wife and mother to three children passed away peacefully and joined her Lord and Savior. 

Marie was born on September 23, 1927 in Philadelphia PA to Harry and Bertha Moore. She graduated from South Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1945. 

Marie and her husband, Bill, raise their family in Almonesson, NJ and they relocated with their family in 1978 to Asheboro NC where they were happy to call home. 

Marie was an avid reader. She also enjoyed crafts, cooking, sewing, and traveling. She was well known for caring for her family, friends, and anyone in need. 

Marie was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, a Stephen Minister, and a member of the Piedmont Emmaus Community. Her church involvement and activities were very important to her. 

In later years Marie loved her home and friends at Mountain Top Living. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William John Westfield “Bill”, her son, William John Westfield Jr. “Billy”, and her sister, Catherine Henrietta Williams. 

She is survived by her daughters, Faith Rowe (Dave), and Bert Matthews (Matt), grandchildren, Dawn McKernan (John), Kara McAvoy (Larry), Mark Rowe (Jenn), Dale Conville (Virginia), Chad Conville (Tiffany), Katy Bell (Chris), and 13 great grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00AM followed by a noon service in the chapel at Pugh Funeral home.
