Mamie Dunn Parks

Mamie Dunn Parks, age 95, of 803 Dixon Ave., Asheboro finally went home on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Parks was a native of Troy. She was retired from Jockey International and was formerly employed with Acme-McCrary Corporation and Sapona Manufacturing. She formerly attended Brower's Memorial Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday School. Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Parks, 6 brothers, and 3 sisters, Lener Dunn, Viola Coble, and Pearlie Montano. She is survived by her niece, Frances Pegram and her husband Chester of Greensboro, NC; great nephews, David King of Greensboro, NC and Chris King of Greensboro, NC; great niece, Tracie Nelson of McLeansville, NC; and caregiver and best friend, Crystal "Cricket" Lipford of the home. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 17, 2010 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
