Betty Louise Russell, age 92, of Denton died Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Randolph Health.
Mrs. Russell was born July 7, 1928 in Randolph County to Roe and Docie Shields Russell.
Mrs. Russell was retired from Klaussner Furniture. Louise loved God and her church, New Hope United Methodist Church in Denton. Louise enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She gave many lap quilts to her loved ones to remember her by. Louise wasn’t able to walk or see and was restricted to a power chair for several years before her death. Prior to her declining health, she loved to travel and work in her flowers, growing a garden each year. Louise also enjoyed reading, listening to her audible books, and phone calls from her close friends. She loved cooking, making cakes and trying new recipes. She loved the outdoors and listening to her chimes and watching the hummingbirds from her front porch. Louise gave regularly to many foundations for children and veterans. Most of all, Louise loved her family unconditionally and her friends that touched her heart.
Louise was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her guidance, love, presents, and her hugs and kisses, will be cherished in our hearts forever.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Russell, and her brother, Donald “Buster” Russell.
She is survived by daughter, Phyllis Street and husband Red of Denton; granddaughter, Becca Luck of Denton; great grandson, Jase Luck; sister, JoEllen Davenport of Summerfield, and special cousin, Lucille Brown.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Joe Conley officiating.
