Loretta Parker Kennedy, 98, of Randleman passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born July 23, 1927 in Randolph County, NC to Hubert Parker and Vallie Hunt Parker.
Loretta was a lifelong native of Randolph County, attended First Methodist Church in Randleman, and loved being a part of the community. She retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill where she was a sewer. Loretta loved music and singing. She began singing in the church choir and with her parents and continued until she was 92; quartets, duets, solos – music was her life. She was a shining example of a good, Christian woman to everyone she met. Loretta will be remembered as a wonderful mother and will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Loretta is survived by her son, Dale Kennedy and girlfriend, Kathy Applebee of High Point; granddaughter, Meagan; great-granddaughter, Avacyn. In addition to her parents, Hubert and Vallie Parker, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Kennedy; son, William Lee Kennedy; brother, Bill Parker; and sister-in-law, Barbara Parker.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S Main St. in Randleman. Funeral service will be Monday, December 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Eddie Pugh Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jenna Grogan officiating. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Loretta’s name be sent to First Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Randleman, NC 27317.
