Lillie Mae Lineberry Suggs

Lillie Mae (Lineberry) Suggs, age 92 of Asheboro, North Carolina peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 18th 2025 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Lillie Mae as she was affectionately known to many, was born in Ramseur, North Carolina on January 2nd, 1933 to Snowda (Owen) and Lesile Lineberry. She was a graduate of Ramseur High School and served as the Office Manager and Administrative Assistant for Dr. Harvey Adams for more than three decades. She was married to David “Two Gun” Suggs with whom she shared a deep appreciation for many forms of art for over four decades.

Lillie Mae was a longtime member of the Asheboro First Wesleyan Church where she was a pianist and organist as well as a Sunday school teacher.

In addition to her parents, Lillie Mae was preceded in death by her husband David, her brothers Walter Elmer and Joseph Freeman Lineberry Sr.

Lillie Mae was an accomplished artist and loved to paint, sew and cook and was well adored within her family for near-famous pumpkin pies, turtle cakes, and fried apple pies. She was an avid reader, even after losing most her sight and loved flowers of all shapes, sizes and colors.

Lillie Mae is survived by her sister, Rebeccaa (Lineberry) Dyson of Richmond, VA; sister-in-law, Peggy Lineberry of Ramseur; nieces and nephews, Lydia Dyson (Allen Cersley), Lisa Snider (Andrew), Lesile Lewis (Bob), Walter Lineberry (Wanda), Rodney Lineberry, Chuck Lineberry (Kim), Joseph Lineberry Jr., Tina Brannon (Paul), and Sheri Haynes (Steven); along with 22 great nieces and nephews.

Lillie Mae was loved by many and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Per Lillie Mae's wishes, no services are planned at this time. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to First Wesleyan Church of Asheboro, 825 Highland St. Asheboro, NC 27203 or the Make a Wish foundation.
