Kenneth William McCain, Sr., age 86, of Oak Island passed away on January 11, 2026 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Bolivia.
Mr. McCain was born in Archdale on March 4, 1939 to Fred and Elizabeth Coletrain McCain and was a graduate of Randleman High School. Kenneth served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years with three tours in Vietnam. He was active in VFW Post 10226 in Oak Island and enjoyed breakfast with his fellow members. Kenneth was employed as a truck driver for over 35 years. Kenneth was a member of Charlotte United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and loved fishing. Most of all, Kenneth was a devoted family man and loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth William McCain, Jr. (Marijo) of Dayton, OH, Ann Saintilien of Denton, and Fred McCain (Karen) of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren, Logan, Tony, Tahesha, and Grayson; great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Zechariah; and his siblings, Jane Beeson (WS) of Sophia, Joe McCain of Sophia, Nancy Hinshaw, David McCain (Gayle) of Randleman, and Branson McCain of Sophia.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Charlotte United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1182 Charlotte Church Road in Asheboro with Pastor Lee Carter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
