Kelly John Record, age 52, passed away at his home in Asheboro, NC, on December 27, 2018, after a long illness.
Born in Clifton Springs, NY, on July 7, 1966, Kelly was the son of Myrle and Marjorie Record. He attended Midlakes High School and Community College of the Finger Lakes, then held a variety of jobs, from working on the Beaver River Railroad to helping to restore historic homes with his carpentry skills. Kelly loved music and was a talented pianist. In his later years, he established the habit of reaching out to friends and family members with a “morning message” via text. His messages ranged from inspirational to absurdly humorous, reflecting a keen mind interested in all that life has to offer; but above all, they were daily reminders of love.
Kelly is predeceased by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his sons John Patrick, Phineas, and Peter Record; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Smith Record; grandsons Rivers, Rowan, and Reilly Record; sister Shelley Dutton; niece Cathryn Dutton; and many caring friends.
Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery in Shortsville, NY, at a later date.
