Kathleen Virginia Pickett

Kathleen Virginia Mize Pickett, age 96, of 400 Vision Dr., Asheboro died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Center Methodist Church Cemetery, 186 Center Church Rd., Welcome, NC with Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating. Mrs. Pickett was a native of Davidson County. She was a charter member of the First Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a member of the Senior Notes Choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Odell "Bob" Pickett, son, James Harvey Pickett, sisters, Nora Hege and Estelle Parks and brothers, Lee Mize, Irvin Mize, Pete Mize, and Bill Mize. Kathleen lived a very full and fulfilling life. She is survived by her son, Jerry Pickett and his wife Nancy of Durham, NC; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Pickett of Lexington, NC; sisters, Ethel Leatherman, Mildred Koontz, and Elsie Wray all of Lexington, NC.
