Karen Marie MacDonald Clark

Karen Marie Clarke, 62, of Asheboro, N.C. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

Born December 19, 1963 in Syracuse, N.Y., Karen was a devoted mother and grandmother. Combining a joy of cooking/baking along with her sweet tooth, she was also ready to offer a treat to anyone – especially her grandkids. An avid reader, she never passed up an opportunity to pick up the latest Nicholas Sparks novel. Her love of Jeopardy! led to her ritual of quizzing everyone on the daily answer from the Day-to-Day Calendar she always had.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Thomas MacDonald; her mother, Lois Spatuzzi; and her stepfather, Tony Spatuzzi.

She is survived by her children, Patrick Clarke (Rachel) of Durham, N.C. and Sara Clark (Travis) of Eagle Mountain, UT; grandchildren Spencer, Lily, Ryan, Sam, and Evelyn; siblings Michael MacDonald (Nancy) of Utica, N.Y., Sam Schraven (Tom) of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Lisa Lohrberg (Michael) of Rochester, N.Y., Kevin MacDonald of Baltimore, M.D., and Susie Barnes (Rich) of Cortland, N.Y.; stepmother Sue MacDonald of Bluffton, S.C.; 16 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday, October 16, 2026 beginning with a visitation at 1p.m. followed by a memorial service at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. There will be a celebration of life in Syracuse, N.Y. at a future date.
