Johnny Darrell “JD” Smith, Jr., 53, of Randleman passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born October 21, 1971 in Wytheville, VA to Johnny Darrell Smith, Sr. and Wanda Dunford Smith.
JD was a graduate of Trinity High School. He received an associates degree from Randolph Community College and spent most of his adult life as a truck driver and mechanic. In his personal life, he was a man of many talents. He loved art and music, creating, listening to and playing. He was in several bands, as both guitarist and vocalist. He loved painting, drawing, and being creative. JD loved his family, friends, his dog, cruising, and going to the beach. He is loved and missed by all who knew him.
JD is survived by his wife, Amanda Bailey of Randleman; children, Rebecca Smith (Josh) of Randleman, Steven Smith of Randleman, Luke Jolly of High Point; brother, Danny Smith (Mindy) of Thomasville. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his faithful and loving, canine companion, Sonya.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at Creekside Park, Saturday, May 10, 2025. Time to be determined.
