JoAnne Lamb Simpson

JoAnne Lamb Simpson, age 75, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at High Point Medical Center. Mrs. Simpson was born in Guilford County on September 28, 1945 to JC and Virginia Frye Lamb. She was retired from Kayser-Roth Corporation where co-workers and friends became family. Anyone that got to know JoAnne came to know her as Nana or Mama Jo. She loved church as well as all her church family. Her family, all her grandbabies, and her pets were her life. JoAnne was preceded in death by her stepfather, Doc Richardson; infant brother, Donald Lamb; and sisters, Betty Paige Smith, Brenda Mitchell, and Pat Beck. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Simpson; daughters, Amy Simpson of Randleman, Laurie Simpson of Mt. Pleasant, and Paula Brigman of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Sean Gray, Brandie Wiley, Christina Sanders, Briana Sanders, and Makayla Rees; 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, Eddie "Ralphie" Lamb of Asheboro. Mrs. Simpson's body will lie in repose on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny Miles and Rev. Daniel Byrd officiating.
