James Ralph Strickland

James Ralph “Sleepy” Strickland, Jr., age 72, died Tuesday, March 22,2022, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

James was born on July 10, 1949, in Augusta, GA.

James was bigger than life, generous, kind and a friend to all.  He was loved by family and friends alike and was a person everyone enjoyed!  He was a longtime truck driver and owned his own trucking company. He enjoyed horses and many types of racing.  He was still actively racing and having a blast! Please feel free to celebrate his colorful personality and wear bright colors to his Memorial Service.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main Street, Randleman, NC from 6-8 PM. The Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Bethany United Methodist Church 3650 Bethany Church Road, Franklinville, NC at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Jenna Grogan officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

James is survived by his daughter: Michele Strickland of Randleman and a host of other family and friends.
