James Lynn Gillis

James Lynn Gillis, age 64, of Asheboro, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. Mr. Gillis was born March 12, 1950 in Asheboro. He was a graduate of Asheboro High School and studied at Gaston College in Gastonia, NC. He was a self employed building contractor until he became disabled. James loved music. He was preceded in death by his father, James Nash Gillis. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Davis Gillis Greene of Asheboro, Step-brother, Rev. Joey Greene of Robbins, and his aunt, Carrie Lee Gillis Parker of Fayetteville, NC, and numerous cousins. The family will receive friends Monday, June 23, 2014 from 3:00-4:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be held at 4:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Giles Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
