Gloria Lynn Tickle Brown, 69, of Greensboro passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Burlington, NC surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Guilford County, NC on November 27, 1955, to Marvin Tickle and Dora Mae Brown Tickle.
Gloria was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She retired from the Guilford County School System in 2017 after spending 37 years in custodial services. Gloria loved her family, but her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a fan of horror movies as well as I Love Lucy. She spent her time perusing yard sales and thrift shops, looking for hidden treasures. Gloria was known for her great sense of humor, love of her community, and never having met a stranger. She enjoyed dancing, music, playing Mexican train, and having her lookie (coffee). Gloria’s legacy will live on through all who knew and loved her.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 44 years, Roger Brown of the home; daughters, Sherri Brown Cummons (Matt) of Gibsonville, Lisa Brown Brinkley (Seth) of Climax; grandchildren, Ryan Cummons, Kaylie Rutledge (Blake), Wyatt Brinkley, Reece Brinkley, Rylie Cummons, Addie Cummons; several nieces and nephews; brother, Marvin “Marty” Tickle (Glenda) of Climax. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Karli Jo Cummons, her sister, Brenda Mercer, and brother-in-law, Richard Mercer.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St, Randleman, in the Eddie Pugh Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Gloria’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
