Gloria Errante Jacobi

d. November 25, 2020

Gloria Francesca Errante Jacobi, age 98, of 514 Vision Drive, Asheboro, died Wednesday, November 25, 2020 following a short period of declining health. Gloria was the daughter of the late Ascencio and the late Rose Errante. Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 1, 1922, she graduated from Samuel J. Tilden High School in Brooklyn and studied specialty art at the prestigious Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. There she met fellow artist Anthony Pierce Jacobi, III and enjoyed a marriage that lasted 55 years until his death in 2001. Gloria’s diverse career included political work, art, real estate and competitive flower arranging. She so enjoyed the painting group at the Randolph Arts Guild and regularly could be found at the Asheboro Public Library catching up on the New York Times. She and her husband were active and delighted in the activities of their grandchildren from birth. Gloria insisted on driving herself everywhere until her daughters took the keys away at age 93. She is survived by daughters: Deborah J. Devine of Greensboro, NC; Donna J. Miller and husband Mike of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren: Anthony Andrew Devine of Saluda, NC; Katherine Francesca Devine of Astoria, New York; Michael Collins Miller, Jr. of Austin, Texas; Lisa Pierce Miller Large of Washington, DC; Carroll Jacobi “Jake” Miller of Washington, DC.; great-grandchildren McKinney Michael Large and Collins Edward Large of Washington, DC. A memorial service may be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Randolph Arts Guild or the Asheboro Public Library.
