Gerald Wayne Griffin

Gerald Wayne Griffin, age 68, of Sophia died Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Fisher Park Health and Rehab, Greensboro.

Mr. Griffin was born January 30, 1951 the son of Clyde and Margaret Bradshaw Griffin.Gerald was a native of Roane County, TN. He was a truck driver and did construction work. Gerald was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church in Sophia. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather that always loved to pick and joke around. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like rocking on the front porch and was a big Earnhardt fan. In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Mary Duncan Griffin of the home; daughter: Geraldine Baker (Jason) of Ivanhoe, VA.; sons: Wade Griffin (Kimberly) of Julian and Toby Lynn Griffin of Sophia; grandchildren: Ashley Edwards (Roy), Candace Poupore (Gabriel), Justin Griffin, Trevor Foust, Sarah Griffin and Jacob Griffin; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy and canine companion, Dixie.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Rev. Wayne Pugh officiating.
