Gary Wayne McKinnon

Gary "Putt-Putt" Wayne McKinnon, age 60, of Mt. Gilead, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, ,Pinehurst, NC.

Gary was born in Montgomery County on July 3, 1961 to the late Thaddeus McKinnon and Peggy Beane McKinnon.  He loved his dogs and loved coon hunting. 

He is survived by his sister: Kathy McKinnon Moody of Mt. Gilead and great nephew Brandon Eugene Chappell of the home.  In addition he is survived by several nieces and nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews.  

Visitation for Mr. McKinnon will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Pugh Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC 27371.  A Graveside service will be held following the visitation at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 590 Hydro Rd., Mt. Gilead, NC 27376, with Joe T. Beane officiating.
