Franklin "Neil" Cecil

Franklin "Neil" Cecil, 91, of Randleman passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, April 19, 2026. He was born July 16, 1934 in Greensboro, NC to Claude Lee Cecil and Blanch Goff Cecil.

Neil was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He cherished spending time with his family. Neil could be found playing golf, fishing – especially deep-sea fishing, or watching NASCAR. He loved to sing gospel and country music. Neil will be loved and missed by all.

Neil is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Helen Toomes Cecil of the home; daughters, Sue Huff (Doug) of Greensboro, Brenda Potts (Farrell) of Lexington, Linda Thrower of Greensboro, Lisa Beebe (Mark) of Randleman; son, Chad Cecil (Kim) of Randleman; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two on the way; and sister, Faye Adams. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Cecil, David Cecil; and sister, Jewel Cox.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 1:00 – 1:45 PM Vision Baptist Church in Randleman. Funeral services will start at 2:00 PM with Mark Shelley and Jeff Broadstreet officiating. Interment will follow at Level Cross United Methodist Church Cemetery.
