Frank Alexander “Buddy” Redding, Jr., age 77 of Asheboro passed away on September 29, 2026 at his home.
Buddy was born in Randolph County on August 10, 1949 to Frank and Nancy Varner Redding. Buddy was a 1967 graduate of Franklinville High School where he played both basketball and baseball. He served his country in the NC National Guard. He was employed with Stuart Furniture/Klaussner Furniture where he worked his way up to plant manager. He retired after 24 ½ years of service. Buddy had a heart of gold. He was an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball and Tarheel Basketball fan. Buddy enjoyed racing go-carts with his son, fishing, traveling to the mountains, and cookouts with friends and classmates.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pam Moon Redding; daughter, Julie Pugh (Jay) of Coleridge; son, B.J. Redding of Trinity; 2 grandchildren, Brayden and Madison; and sister, Sue Rutland of Concord.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 10:00 am - 10:50 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Buddy's funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the Glenn "Mac" Pugh Chapel with burial following the service at Cedar Falls Methodist Church Cemetery, 1119 Loflin Pond Rd., Asheboro.
