Fernanda De Blas De Medina

Fernanda De Blas De Medina, age 85, of Winston Salem, NC, passed away at her home on Monday, January 16, 2023. Today she rests in the tender arms of her Lord and Savior.

Fernanda was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico to Irineo De Blas and Concepción Rodríguez in 1937.

She enjoyed singing hymns and old Mexican songs. She really loved butterflies, flowers, and traveling with her grandchildren. Fernanda was a companion to her husband’s ministry in northern Mexico and North Carolina where she served as a pianist, Sunday school teacher, and led the children’s ministry. In her illness and pains, Mamá Nanda found the strength to serve the needy, the weak, and the lost. 

Fernanda is survived by her husband: Daniel Medina y Martinez; children: Daniel C. Medina (Julieta), Josué Medina (Rosalba), Gustavo Medina (Norma), Marcos Medina (Mary), Pablo Medina (Lorena); grandchildren: Daniel (Cynthia), Amsi (Mario), David (Abigail), Jair, Gidalti, Abdi (Elizabeth), Ammi (Román), David, Michelle (Mark), Isaac, and Andrea; three great-grandchildren (Liam, Levi, Ivy).   She was preceded in death by her infant son David Benjamin.

A visitation service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Pugh Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC 27371. A Celebration of Life and Resurrection will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM at First Wesleyan Church of Troy, 1368 NC Highway 134N, Troy, NC 27371, with Rev. Daniel Medina y Martinez, Pastor Galo Maldonado, Rev. Daniel C. Medina, M.C. Gustavo Medina and the Rev. Dr. Ed Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Highway 134N, Troy, NC 27371.

These donations will help in the ministries of evangelism and social assistance.

Fernanda De Blas De Medina, de 85 años, de Winston Salem, NC, falleció en su casa el lunes 16 de enero de 2023. Hoy descansa en los tiernos brazos de su Señor y Salvador.

Fernanda nació en San Luis Potosí, México de Irineo De Blas y Concepción Rodríguez en 1937.

Le gustaba cantar himnos y viejas canciones mexicanas. Le encantaban las mariposas, las flores y viajar con sus nietos. Fernanda fue compañera del ministerio de su esposo en el norte de México y Carolina del Norte, donde se desempeñó como pianista, maestra de escuela dominical y dirigió el ministerio de niños. En su enfermedad y dolores, Mamá Nanda encontró la fe y fuerza para servir a los necesitados, los débiles y los perdidos.

A Fernanda le sobreviven su esposo: Daniel Medina y Martínez; hijos: Daniel C. Medina (Julieta), Josué Medina (Rosalba), Gustavo Medina (Norma), Marcos Medina (Mary), Pablo Medina (Lorena); nietos: Daniel (Cynthia), Amsi (Mario), David (Abigail), Jair, Gidalti, Abdi (Elizabeth), Ammi (Román), David, Michelle (Mark), Isaac y Andrea; tres bisnietos (Liam, Levi, Ivy).  Precedida en partida al Cielo por su hijo David Benjamín. 

Se llevará a cabo una velada el viernes 27 de enero de 2023, de 5:00 p. m. a 7:00 p. m. en Pugh Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC 27371. Una Celebracion de Vida y Resurrección se realizará el sábado 28 de enero de 2023 a las 11:00 a. m. en First Wesleyan Church of Troy, 1368 NC Highway 134N, Troy, NC 27371, con el reverendo Daniel Medina y Martinez, el pastor Galo Maldonado, el reverendo Daniel C. Medina,  M.C. Gustavo Medina, el reverendo Dr. Ed Lindsey oficiando. El Servicio de Sepultura será en el cementerio de la iglesia.
