Edna Victoria Johnson

Edna Victoria Gerald Johnson of Candor, NC passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 27, 2026, at FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, West End, NC.

Edna was born in Richmond County, NC on February 27, 1946, to the late James Harvey Gerald and Grace Irene Ford Gerald. Her greatest job was being a homemaker and being an amazing cook. Edna loved her family and cherished being together with them and her brothers and sisters. She was a godly woman and loved her church family. Her love of music and singing was especially important to her. She was an amazing cook and spent much time tending to her flowers and gardening in her earlier years.

Edna is survived by her spouse, Johnny Johnson of the home; sons: Mickey Parsons (Kim) of Troy, Jonathan Johnson (Brittanee) of Alabama; daughter: Kristen Friar (Clint) of Alabama; sisters: Corena Prevatt of Greensboro, Patricia Frederick (Gene) of Kentucky and Doisha Kincaid of Troy; brother: Joe Gerald of Wadesboro; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Parsons, sons: Rickey Parsons and Scottie Parsons; grandson Randy Parsons; one brother and one sister.

Memorials may be made in Edna's honor to Falson's Children's Home, 7569 N. West Street, Falcon, NC 28342.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hickory Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3934 Pekin Rd., Candor, NC with Rev. Joe Beane officiating.
