Doris B. Trogdon

d. December 4, 2020

Doris Jean Buie Trogdon passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020, at Randolph Hospice House, and is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:8 Doris was born on March 5, 1932, in Stanly County, NC, to Cearn Lee Buie, Sr., and Maggie Pauline Buie Loflin. She was the eldest of eight children and grew up in Denton, NC. She graduated from Denton High School and Ashmore Business College in Thomasville, NC. Doris worked in and managed offices for furniture and textile manufacturing in Asheboro for many years before eventually retiring from Human Resources at the North Carolina Zoo. Doris was a devoted member of Asheboro First Wesleyan Church and served as church treasurer for over 30 years. She loved serving her church family and was a faithful friend to many. Doris was a very kind, generous and resourceful person. She enjoyed cooking, reading, spending time at High Rock Lake, and was open to learning new things her entire life. Her greatest joy, however, was always her family. She was a great source of strength and encouragement to them all. Doris is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Norman Cecil Trogdon, and sons Steven (Steve) Cecil Trogdon and wife Robin and Edward (Eddie) Lee Trogdon and wife Marty of Asheboro, and daughter, Donna Trogdon Pendergrast and husband Walter of Wilmington, NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kimberly Terry and husband Russ, Hank Trogdon and wife Jordan, Emily Taylor and husband John, Thomas Pendergrast, Ronnie Trogdon, Daniel Trogdon, Benjamin Trogdon, and Andrew Trogdon, and nine great-grandchildren: Natalie and Nathaniel Terry; Molly, Clara, and Annie Trogdon; Charles, Ingrid, Peter and Lucy Taylor. She is also survived by her sister Brenda Lomax and brother John Loflin, as well as many other family members she loved dearly. The family wishes to thank all the family and friends whose care and support allowed Doris and Norman to continue to live at home. They have been blessed by all the meals, visits, calls, cards, and the newspaper placed on the top step every morning. The family also thanks the 4th Floor PCU at Randolph Health and Randolph Hospice House for their compassionate care. Doris will lie in repose on Monday, December 7, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave. Asheboro. A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 3:00PM, officiated by Rev Kevin Dunovant and Rev. Mark Beane. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we ask everyone attending to wear a face mask and to practice social distancing. A memorial service will be held at First Wesleyan Church at a later date. Memorials may be made to Asheboro First Wesleyan Church, PO Box 338 Asheboro, NC 27204, or to Randolph Hospice House, 446 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203
