Doris Seabolt Lewis Hoover

Doris Seabolt Lewis Hoover, 90, of Asheboro died Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro after a period of declining health. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with the Rev. Cliff Van Vliet officiating. Mrs. Hoover will lie in repose from 11 am to 1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro prior to the service. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and masks are required. Born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., on February 10, 1931, Mrs. Hoover was the daughter of the late John Randolph Seabolt and Bertha Whitley Seabolt. She worked as a bookkeeper in the food service industry and for the Randolph County Board of Education and was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and music and was a member of a group that played music at retirement homes and senior centers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hoover was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnie Lewis, and second husband, Lacy Hoover; sisters, Louise Snider, Hazel Frye and Mildred Cromer; and brothers, Clyde Seabolt, John Seabolt Jr. and Howard Seabolt. Surviving are sons, Don Lewis of Glendora, California and Steve Lewis (June) of Signal Hill, California, and step-son Jerry Hoover of Asheboro; brothers, Clarence Seabolt (Edith) and Reid Seabolt (Peggy), all of Asheboro; sister-in-law Betty Seabolt of Ramseur; brother-in-law Roy Hoover of King; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Hilltop Baptist Church, 826 Crestview Church Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205. Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro is in charge of arrangements.
