Donald Beverly Cox 90 of Asheboro passed away Friday, March 27th, 2026, at his home. Born June 7, 1935, in southern Randolph County, he was the son of the late Fletcher Monroe Cox and Viola Lambert Cox.

Don was a 1954 graduate of Asheboro High School. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Don married his wife, Trudy Joan Bost in Asheboro at the First Presbyterian Church on Worth Street. He served as President of the family-owned business, Bost Neckwear Company for over 40 years.

Don loved the outdoors. He spent many hours fishing for trout in the NC mountains where he was a member of the Elk River Fishing Club. He also loved the Carolina Panthers where often on Sunday afternoons he had to,” decide between watching the Panthers or fishing for trout”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trudy Bost Cox and his son Tyler Dean Cox, sisters Sue Carol Cox, Geraldine Covington and Genevieve Cox. One brother, Eldon Cox.

Don is survived by his daughter Krista Davidson (Mark), son Craig Cox (Beth), grandchildren English Axtell (Mark), John Davidson (Shea), Stewart Cox (Courtney), Caroline Andrews (Thomas) and Fletcher Cox. Great grandchildren Silas Axtell, Cary Axtell, Joanna Axtell, Lydia Axtell, Nathaniel Axtell, Jack Davidson, Luke Davidson, Lewis Cox, Theo Cox, William Andrews and Elizabeth Andrews. Siblings Roland Cox (Carolyn), Raeford Cox, Imogene Burkhard and brother-in-law Tim Bost (Sandra) and special friend Dianne Cox.

Don’s bright smile, generosity, humor, stories and advise will be remembered and cherished by all of those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services for Mr. Donald Cox will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church,420 W Walker Avenue, Asheboro by the Rev. Brian Rummage. Burial will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro, NC. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00-1:45 at the church. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Asheboro or to the American Heart Association.
