Don Willard King, age 79, of Asheboro died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Mr. King was born February 10, 1941 in Montgomery County to Bascome and Vellie King.
Mr. King was a graduate of Star High School, was retired owner/operator of Kings Garage and worked for the NC Zoo. He coached baseball when his children were young and enjoyed gardening. Mr. King loved riding his horses and buggies and rabbit hunting with his beagles. In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by 12 siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elda Moffitt King; daughter, Melynda Wilson of Asheboro; sons, Chris King of Asheboro, Brandon King of Asheboro; grandchildren, Sarah Cummings, Adam Wilson, Dylan King; great grandchild, Everleigh Cummings.
Mr. King's body will lie in repose on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from noon-3:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.
The family requests memorials be made to the charity of donor's choice in Don's memory.
